Strategic Appointments Support Growth and Innovation
at Metro Atlanta’s Premier Technology Museum
ROSWELL, Ga. – (December 5, 2024) – Computer Museum of America (CMoA), a metro Atlanta attraction featuring one of the world’s largest collections of digital-age artifacts, today announced the addition of two new members to its board of directors. Effective immediately, Emily Phan and R. Todd Rice will join the esteemed board, bringing diverse expertise to support the museum’s mission.
“As we celebrate the fifth anniversary of Computer Museum of America, we reflect on the remarkable growth we have achieved and look ahead to where we aspire to be in the future,” said Lonnie Mimms, founder and board chair of CMoA. “Expanding our board brings invaluable support and guidance to our team as we continue to enhance the museum experience for all our members and visitors.”
The museum’s board of directors is comprised of leaders with backgrounds in technology, business development, education, legal, financial management, and nonprofit experience, all dedicated to advancing the museum’s growth and impact. The addition of Phan and Rice marks the next phase of evolution for the museum and will further strengthen the board’s ability to guide the museum into an exciting future.
Phan brings a wealth of experience in the technology and education sectors to the CMoA board. As the chief technology officer at Stand for Children, she has led innovative solutions for national programs focused on K-12 education advocacy, juvenile justice reform and school services across the U.S. Her expertise in leveraging technology to drive advancement in education will play a vital role in enhancing the museum’s programming and supporting its mission to “preserve the stories and artifacts from the digital age while educating and inspiring visitors of all ages and backgrounds.”
Rice brings more than 35 years of financial planning expertise to the board. As vice president and chief operating officer at RFA Management Company, LLC, Rice specializes in estate management, tax planning, investment management and more. His extensive financial acumen will help the museum strengthen sponsorship and grant initiatives, ensuring the resources needed to support continued growth and expansion.
In July, as CMoA celebrated its fifth anniversary, the museum unveiled plans for its latest permanent exhibit, iNNOVATE: Fifty Years of Inspiration at Apple. Slated to debut in early 2026, the exhibit will showcase the world’s largest collection of Apple products, from the groundbreaking Apple I to the company’s most recent innovations and everything in between. Building upon the excitement of the museum’s upcoming exhibition, the team has identified additional opportunities to expand on the growth that has taken place over the last five years. These thoughtful new initiatives will lead to more major announcements throughout 2025.
