As we begin a new school year, Computer Museum of America (CMoA) would like to show our appreciation for all of our local K-12 educators.
This year we’ll be kicking off our inaugural Educator’s Weekend on September 10th and 11th, 2022. As many of us here at CMoA have previous ties to the education community working as or with teachers and schools, we know that it’s important to show our teachers a little love. In an effort to show that love, we’d like to invite any current teacher to come visit the museum for free during Educator’s Weekend. Teachers will simply need to show a valid educator ID to gain free admission. Other members of their group will be welcomed at regular admission rates.
Tired of the same old field trips? Educator’s Weekend is a great opportunity to check out Computer Museum of America as a new destination. We have programs for high school and middle school students that meet many Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) in a variety of topics including Math, Science, Social Studies, and of course, Computer Science. Additionally, there are lots of opportunities to explore Art, Design, and Language Arts. Your group of up to 120 students can come for a self-guided visit or we can arrange guided tours and content related activities depending on the size of your group. We have plenty of parking for buses, spaces to eat your lunch, and we’re close to other attractions in Roswell and easily accessible from GA 400.
Speaking of field trips, do you teach in or do your kids attend a Fulton County School? CMoA has been approved as a Cultural Kaleidoscope venue for the 2022-2023 school year. Our program about the Apollo missions was accepted as one of the high school programs that students can attend this year.
More information about field trip pricing and logistics will be available both at the museum during the event as well as coming to our website soon.
Please share the invitation to Educator’s Weekend with teachers you know.
