Computer Museum of America (CMoA) seeks college students to assist the staff this summer in several different areas. We are excited to partner with young adults to grow Museum awareness, further collection management, develop trusted programs, and enhance each guests’ visit to CMoA. Interns will gain invaluable experience working with museum staff while learning more about museum operations.
Below are the opportunities available to any undergraduate or graduate student:

This internship is best suited for a student majoring in Public History or Museum Studies.
Event Planning – Intern will assist staff with tours, create quotes, assist researching and implementing event technology, monitor onsite events, and more. This internship is best suited for a student majoring in hospitality administration or hotel management.
Educational Programming – Intern will assist staff with the Full STEAM Ahead camps and Tech Tales: Storytime for Young Explorers, summer programs. This internship is best suited for a student majoring in Education or Museum Studies.

These are unpaid internships and considered a volunteer position. The intern will work approximately 10-15 hours a week for a semester or agreed upon time-period. These hours may be worked in a combination of times and days.
If you know a student interested in gaining experience in any of these areas, please have them email info@computermuseumofamerica.org with the subject line Summer Internship. In the body of the email, they will need to identify the opportunity they are most interested in. CMoA will send additional information about these opportunities.
CMoA recognizes the risks associated with COVID19 and takes precautions to mitigate these risks for employees, staff, and volunteers. Staff work in large spaces throughout Museum. Masks are worn whenever staff are not able to maintain social distancing guidelines. Hand sanitizer and masks are available for all personnel. By accepting this internship, the intern should feel comfortable working in the physical space with other staff members, including at times working in closer proximity to other staff in order to perform job functions.
